Theme
Our theme this year is “For Such a Time as This.” Have you ever felt that there just aren’t enough hours in a day? Does your to-do list stack up in a way that overwhelms you? Do you wonder what it means to live for Christ in the season of life you’re in? This weekend we will set aside time for God to show us how we can live our one life well and make the most of the time we’ve been given. We’ll rest, laugh, share, encourage one another, and worship our incredible God together. We are praying this weekend is a life-giving breath of fresh air for you, drawing you near to God and encouraging you right where you are.
Details and FAQs

-
Riverbend Retreat Center is located at 1232-C County Road 411B, Glen Rose, TX (about 1 hr 40 min from CBC). You can learn more about Riverbend at their website here.
-
The retreat starts Friday at 7 pm and ends at noon on Sunday. Check in begins at 3 pm if you’d like to enjoy the afternoon at Riverbend, and we offer an optional come-and-go dinner Friday evening from 5-7 pm. We understand with traffic and work schedules some may not be able to get there until later, so come when you’re able! Our final session ends just before lunch on Sunday.
-
You are welcome to drive yourself, but we also offer carpooling if you’d like to ride with a group! Our registration form will list the transportation options for you to choose from. There is parking right outside each room. For those who do choose to carpool, we ask that each person chip in for gas as a courtesy to the driver.

Our retreat schedule is designed to give women time for rest/relaxation, time for community, and time for spiritual encouragement. We have three scheduled sessions with worship and teaching we hope all will attend, followed by a time of discussion and sharing in smaller groups to connect on a deeper level. We will have several hours of free time on Saturday afternoon - some women choose to go into downtown Glen Rose for shopping and pie (especially pie!); others stay on site and chat on the rocking chairs, go on a nature walk, or take a nap. For those wanting to be more active, we’ll have group games like archery tag, pickleball, and volleyball. We also offer a special craft you can participate in, which is a great way to enjoy being creative with other women! In the evenings, we’ll bring out snacks and enjoy games and fellowship. Our prayer is that each element of this retreat ministers to you right where you are, and that the activities and sessions are life-giving, restful, and encouraging!
-
Our speakers this year are Mary Ann Sweeney, Sarah Vranicar, and Jackie Jasper. Each one will share about a different aspect of our theme: “A Time for the Lord” (Mary Ann), “A Time to Wait” (Sarah), and “A Time to Trust” (Jackie).
-
We will be staying in Cedar Bluff Lodge and Rock Creek Lodge, which are hotel-style rooms with queen and twin beds, private restrooms, and porch access (more information and photos can be found here). Bedding, towels, and soap are provided. In order to allow as many women to attend as possible, we usually have three or four women in each room. You are more than welcome to request specific roommates when you register, and we will do our best to accommodate you. There will be a place on the registration form for you to let us know any special accommodation needs/requests.
-
The retreat fee covers five meals (dinner Friday through breakfast Sunday), lodging, door prizes, and swag!
We never want cost to be a reason a woman doesn’t attend the retreat - if you need a partial or full scholarship, information is on the registration form.
-
With the exception of dinner on Friday, all meals are held in the dining hall, which is a short walk or drive from the lodge. There will be a main course, sides, and fruit (at breakfast) or salad (at lunch/dinner). Coffee, tea, juice, and soft drinks are provided. For dinner Friday, we will be serving taco stacks in the Rock Creek Lodge meeting room.
We also invite you to bring snacks for our snack table - anything you would enjoy sharing with the group!
If you have dietary needs, please fill out this form so Riverbend can accommodate you.
-
Yes! You can find our suggested packing list here.
-
While we cannot accommodate older children at our retreat, we understand infants need special care! If you would like to bring your infant, childcare will be available during the sessions and small group times. Our volunteers are two experienced high school students, and childcare will be held in a room right by our meeting place for easily accessibility. Please let us know if you plan to bring your baby on the registration form.
-
Registration is online and can be found below! We also ask that you print the Riverbend Release Form and bring it with you. Payment options are listed on the registration form; we accept cash, check, or online payment (through Tithely). We ask that registration and payment be submitted by April 1st.
