The spring retreat is our biggest event of the year, and we invite you to join us! What could be more refreshing to the soul than a weekend away in God’s creation with women who want to know Christ better and walk closely together in friendship? Bring your girlfriends, neighbors, and family, and come enjoy a weekend of rest, laughter, and encouragement!
Theme
Our theme this year is “For Such a Time as This.” Have you ever felt that there just aren’t enough hours in a day? Does your to-do list stack up in a way that overwhelms you? Do you wonder what it means to live for Christ in the season of life you’re in? This weekend we will set aside time for God to show us how we can live our one life well and make the most of the time we’ve been given. We’ll rest, laugh, share, encourage one another, and worship our incredible God together. We are praying this weekend is a life-giving breath of fresh air for you, drawing you near to God and encouraging you right where you are.

Details and FAQs

-
Riverbend Retreat Center is located at 1232-C County Road 411B, Glen Rose, TX (about 1 hr 40 min from CBC). You can learn more about Riverbend at their website here. The retreat starts at _____ Friday and ends at noon on Sunday. You can arrive any time after 3pm Friday, but our first session starts at 7:30 pm. We offer an optional meal Friday evening at 5pm if you’d like to join us for that, but we understand with traffic and work schedules some may not be able to get there until later.
-
We offer carpooling if you’d like to drive a group or ride with someone! Some women prefer to drive themselves, which is completely fine. There is parking right outside each room. Our registration form will list the transportation options for you to choose from. For those who do choose to carpool, we ask that each person chip in for gas as a courtesy to the driver.

Our retreat schedule is designed to give women time for rest/play, time for community, and time for spiritual encouragement and teaching. We have three scheduled sessions we hope all will attend, with worship and teaching, followed by small group breakouts where you will be able to discuss the lesson on a deeper level and enjoy a time of personal sharing with a smaller group of women. We will have several hours of free time on Saturday afternoon, and some women choose to go into downtown Glen Rose for shopping and pie (especially pie!); others stay on site and chat on the rocking chairs, go on a nature walk, or take a nap. We also offer a special craft you can participate in, which is a great way to enjoy being creative with other women! In the evenings, we bring out snacks and enjoy games and fellowship. We pray about each element of the retreat, and our hope is that the activities and sessions are life-giving, restful, and encouraging.
-
Our speakers this year are Mary Ann Sweeney, Sarah Vranicar, and Jackie Jasper. Each one will share about a different aspect of our theme: “A Time for God” (Mary Ann), “A Time to Wait” (Sarah), and “A Time to Trust” (Jackie).
-
We will be staying in Cedar Bluff Lodge and Rock Creek Lodge. More information and photos can be found here. In order to accommodate as many women as we can, we usually have three or four women in each room. You are more than welcome to request specific roommates when you register, and we will do our best to accommodate you. There will be a place on the registration form for you to let us know any special accommodation needs/requests.
-
The retreat fee includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, as well as lunch on Sunday. Dinner Friday is optional and will be an additional $8. If you have dietary needs, please fill out this form so Riverbend can accommodate those.
We also invite you to bring snacks for our snack table - anything you would enjoy sharing with the group!
-
Complimentary childcare is available for infants through 18 months during the sessions and small group times. We have two experienced high school students who will watch them a room right by our meeting place for easily accessibility.
-
Yes! We completely understand when schedules don’t allow women to attend the entire retreat, but we would love for you to come for any part that you can! If you are staying for one night, the cost will remain the same (since we are still paying for each room for two nights). If you are only coming on Saturday and aren’t staying overnight, please let us know on the registration form and we will reach out to discuss the cost with you.
-
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
-
Registration is online and can be found below! We also ask that you print the Riverbend Release Form and bring it with you. Payment options are listed on the registration form and can be made via cash, check, or Tithely. We never want cost to be a reason a woman doesn’t attend the retreat - if you need a partial or full scholarship, or would like to contribute to our scholarship fund, information is on the registration form.

We are praying for you as you consider attending our retreat. If you have any questions, prayer requests, or ways we can serve you, please contact us below!
