At Community Bible Church our calling is to serve our community with the love of Christ. Located directly in the middle of Irving and blocks away from the most diverse zip code in the nation we strive to love our neighbors the way Jesus taught us. We are a small church with a big heart serving a big God in a wonderful neighborhood.
Irving has become one of the most diverse cities in the country and has attracted people from all over the globe and only continues to grow.
- The population is estimated to grow from 216,290 in 2010 to 320,000 in 2040 (source)
- Irving is 43% Hispanic, 25% White (Non-Hispanic), 17% Asian, 13% Black (source)
- Over 1/3 of Irving’s population is foreign born equaling approximately 75,000 people (source)
- Irving’s population includes approximately 25,000 from Mexico, over 10,000 from India, approximately 8,000 from El Salvador, and thousands more from all around the globe (source)
- The Irving Independent School District classifies almost 80% of their students as “Economically Disadvantaged” and almost 40% with “Limited English Proficiency” (source)
This is our community. All around us people from all over the world have come to make Irving their home. These people are our neighbors and we strive to love them as Jesus did. With such a wide range of people and circumstances we have tremendous opportunities to serve our community.
A few of our current activities in the community include our children’s programs Awana, Good News Club, VBS, and mentoring at Brandenburg Elementary School, events at the Rayo De Sol Apartment complex nearby our church, and our youth participating with MPACT around Texas every summer.
And we’re just getting started!
We want to do more and we could use your gifts, talents, resources, abilities, ideas, passions, and motivations to take the Gospel to our neighbors. Our church isn’t for everybody but hopefully it’s for you! We invite you to come and check us out to see if God would lead you to invest in the most diverse neighborhood in the country.
In addition to our local ministries and outreach, our church supports 15+ missionaries on 6 continents. From the native Texan to the person from the other side of the world, we hope to share the Gospel with everyone.
The last book of the Bible, Revelation, ends with a description of Heaven. “9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; 10 and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.’”
We at Community Bible Church wish to experience a glimpse of what that scene in Heaven will be like here in our town at our church. The nations have come right next door and we would love to see them join us in worshiping God together. So, whether you already follow Christ and are looking for a local church with whom you can serve the community around you, or you do not know Jesus personally we invite you to join us in reaching the nations next door.
Please feel free to peruse our website to see what we offer and we would love to have you join us for our Sunday morning service. May God bless you.
