Children's Ministry

Our Belief

Children and their parents are very important at CBC. Our children are wonderful gifts from God. Our Children’s Ministry staff take their responsibilities very seriously.

Raising a family in today’s society is no small challenge. What really helps is working together with others who can offer a helping hand over those rough spots. There are times we all need to know we’re not in this alone. It’s reassuring when we have others who stand beside us as we face today’s challenges. A thriving family is worth working for. Come and discover the strength and resources available to you at CBC to help your family flourish.

Nursery

We offer childcare for all our corporate services. All of our nursery workers are volunteers, who attend CBC. They each have a heart to minister to children.

Sunday School

We have Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning for ages 2-grade 6.  All of our teachers are long time members of CBC and are committed to teaching children the truths of God’s Word.

Junior Church

During the worship service we offer Junior Church for children ages 4-grade 3. We have a rotating group of teachers that offer a variety of activities and teaching styles to further instill Biblical principles in our children.

Vacation Bible School

Every summer our church is turned into a castle, farm or other venue, to fully present the VBS theme that year. Many of our members teach, tell stories, act in skits, and serve in other ways to minister to children during this fun week of VBS. We encourage kids to bring their friends who may not be able to come at other times.

Fall Festival

In October, as an alternative to Halloween, we have a Fall Festival. Costume contests, games, cake walks and fellowship abound!

AWANA

On Wednesday night during the school year we offer an Awana Program. Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from 2 Timothy 2:15.

Our Awana program currently ministers to children from 3 years old through 6th grade. Our time on Wednesday evening is divided into structured segments which include Bible verse memorization, age appropriate stories or devotionals and games.

We have special events throughout the year such as caroling at the Irving Baylor Hospital and the Hearthstone Assisted Living Home, area wide Awana games, an afternoon hike, and either a regatta boat race or grand prix car race.

There is also a theme night most months where the children have the opportunity to wear such things as cool sunglasses, silly socks, crazy hats or dress up like Bible characters, etc.

Awana is a wonderful way to nurture and encourage our own church kids and an excellent way to bring in kids who may not have a church home. Visitors are always welcome and children are encouraged to bring their friends.
